CPCS Testing Statistics
Last year, 1073 candidates completed CPCS testing at BAM Construction Training. The majority of these candidates completed tests as part of our high-quality CPCS training courses, while others had the experience to advance straight to their tests.
2593 total tests were booked – including 1240 theory tests and 1353 practical tests.
Theory Testing
Out of 1353 theory tests booked:
• 1093 passed – Congratulations, you guys smashed it!
• 114 failed – Don’t worry, sometimes things don’t go to plan. However, you didn’t let this discourage you. Many candidates revised their notes and passed on their theory re-test.
• 33 cancelled – Most cancellations resulted from candidates not completing the CITB health, safety & Environment test.
Overall, excluding cancellations, we averaged a theory pass rate of 88%.
Practical Testing
Out of 1240 practical tests booked:
• 1230 passed – Well done, you guys are experts!
• 47 failed – Don’t panic, sometimes the nerves get to you. Many of these candidates were able to pass on their re-test.
• 76 cancelled – Most cancellations resulted from failed theory tests. This was because, before taking the practical test, you must pass the theory test.
Overall, excluding cancellations, we averaged a practical pass rate of 91%.

Last year, we accommodated CPCS testing in over 30 categories.
Overall, our 3 most popular CPCS courses were:
1. A40 Slinger/Signaller – 649 tests booked.
2. A59 Excavator 360: above 10T – 334 tests booked.
3. A62 Crane Supervisor – 257 tests booked.
