Course introduction

CPCS Slinger Signaller Training Course – BAM Construction Training’s CPCS A40 Slinger/Signaller training course (4 day foundation) is designed to provide novice and intermediate operators with sufficient slinger signaller training which will enable them to competently and safely carry out the role of a slinger/signaller and pass the CPCS theory/practical assessments.

We also offer a 2 day experienced worker course for candidates who do not require practical training. If you are considering this option we recommend reading the activity instructions further down this page.

Eligibility Criteria

Before attending this course, candidates must pass the CITB Health and Safety Test for Operatives (OPS) within the past 2 years. We can accommodate this test at our centre for a fee of £60+VAT.

Activity Instructions

Check all lifting equipment for function & serviceability. Identify certification not meeting current legislation & regulations.

Establish the weight & features of loads prior to lifting. Establish communication with lifting operator.

Lift load, guide to max radius, slew for 180° & land in designated area. Lift load, guide to min radius, slew for 360° & place in area.

Guide machine to load. Lift load, position to suitable radius for travel, guide load over given route including turns.

Lift load from ground level, land in designated area out of operators sight and detach.

Attach load out of sight area & return load to original start point, land at designated place & detach accessory.

Ensure all loads are made safe following each activity. Maintain communication with machine operator.

Collect and store all lifting accessories.
