NRSWA Streetworks Course

New Roads and Street Works Act

The New Roads and Street Works Act (1991) requires everyone working on or near public roads to hold an operative street works card in the relevant categories.

It also requires that all street works be overseen by someone with a supervisor street works card.

Supervisors don’t need to be on-site at all times and can supervise more than one set of Street Works at a time

Course Overview

During our Streetworks courses, candidates must pass a series of theory and practical assessments. This includes a series of multiple-choice tests, which candidates have three attempts to pass, as well as practical observations.

Operative vs Supervisor Courses

Please choose the relevant Streetworks course for your job role – either operative or supervisor. Those wanting to perform both operative and supervisor roles must hold both operative and supervisor street work cards.

A supervisor qualification does not qualify the holder to work as a qualified operative or vice versa.

Achieve Your Streetworks Card

Street works cards can be obtained by completing our 5-day novice course. Cards are valid for 5 years.

Street works cards can be renewed by completing our 2-day reassessment course. Cards are valid for 5 years.
