There’s heavy machinery and then there’s this 13-tonne Excavator that’ll be yours for a thrilling 90-minute Digger Driving Experience.

Wake up your inner child and drive a digger taking full control of the Excavator to try your hand at working one of the biggest machines. You’ll learn how to load a dump truck, drive the machine across the field and have a chance to excavate bucketfuls of mud.

It’s more challenging than it looks but you’ll be under the supervision of highly skilled professionals to help you make the most of your experience.

FAQs

What happens on the day?

On arrival, you must be site ready in full PPE gear (hard hat, boots, high vis and gloves) which can be purchased from the team at an extra cost. You’ll be greeted by your instructor and given a briefing on safety and the controls before climbing into the cabin of the Excavator to continue your 90 minute experience. You’ll learn how to load a dump truck, drive the machine across the field and have a chance to excavate bucketful’s of mud.

Participant guidelines

Minimum age: 16 (under 18s need parental/guardian consent)
Minimum height: 5ft
All participants must have a good understanding of the English language for instruction purposes
All drivers need to be in reasonable health and able to operate hand and foot controls
Please note: anyone deemed to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs will not be permitted to participate
2 spectators are welcome (under 18s need to be accompanied by a parent)
The centres contracted with us hold public indemnity liability insurance. We also hold contingency liability cover.
Some driving operators require customers to complete an Indemnity/Damage waiver form on the day of the experience. This may state that the driver will be liable for a fixed amount of costs should they damage the vehicle whilst driving. Most of these suppliers can provide Indemnity/Damage Waiver at a small additional fee (usually £20-£45) payable on-site. The purchase of this is optional and is in addition to the Public Liability Insurance held by all venues. The full details of any indemnity or damage waiver will be provided by the activity operator. We are unable to advise or comment on the content or suitability of these products.

Availability

Your voucher is valid for 12 months from the date of purchase. Please book and take your experience before the expiry date. The experience is available Monday to Friday throughout the year. Exclusions may apply. We recommend you book at least 4 weeks in advance to ensure that dates are available. All bookings are subject to availability. Please allow 1 hour 30 minutes for the full experience. This includes a 15 minutes befiefing, 60 minutes on the machine and 15 mins debrief.
