There’s something truly unique about being behind the wheel of a Rotational Telehandler Crane. In this 90-minute Crane Driving Experience, you’ll carry out various activities as you climb into the driver’s cabin and feel what it’s like to be involved in a construction site.

You’ll get to grips with the various controls as you prepare the machine for lifting different loads, manoeuvring and running it through several scenarios of lifts including lowering materials into place. This is a chance to experience something completely new.

FAQs

What happens on the day?

On arrival, you’ll be warmly welcomed by the BAM Construction Training team. They’ll give you a quick briefing, before leading you to your Rotational Telehandler Crane. Throughout the 90-minute experience, you’ll carry out various activities including preparing the machine for lifting different loads, manoeuvring it and running it through several scenarios of lifts.

Participant guidelines

Minimum age: 16 (under 18s need parental/guardian consent)
Minimum height: 5ft
All participants must have a good understanding of the English language for instruction purposes
All drivers need to be in reasonable health and able to operate hand and foot controls
Please note: anyone deemed to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs will not be permitted to participate
2 spectators are welcome (under 18s need to be accompanied by a parent)
The centres contracted with us hold public indemnity liability insurance. We also hold contingency liability cover.
Some driving operators require customers to complete an Indemnity/Damage waiver form on the day of the experience. This may state that the driver will be liable for a fixed amount of costs should they damage the vehicle whilst driving. Most of these suppliers can provide Indemnity/Damage Waiver at a small additional fee (usually £20-£45) payable on-site. The purchase of this is optional and is in addition to the Public Liability Insurance held by all venues. The full details of any indemnity or damage waiver will be provided by the activity operator. We are unable to advise or comment on the content or suitability of these products.

Availability

Your voucher is valid for 12 months from the date of purchase. Please book and take your experience before the expiry date. The experience is available Monday to Friday throughout the year. Exclusions may apply. We recommend you book at least 4 weeks in advance to ensure that dates are available. All bookings are subject to availability. Please allow 1 hour 30 minutes for the full experience. This includes a 15 minutes befiefing, 60 minutes on the machine and 15 mins debrief.

Insurance

The centres contracted with us hold public liability insurance. We also hold contingency liability cover. You will not be liable for accidental damage to equipment, except where damage has been caused as a result of recklessness or wilful negligence.

All you have to do is pay for the experience you wish to purchase, and we’ll send a voucher and booking information to you or directly to the recipient. Then you just need to check the info and book your experience.
