BAM Construction Training’s CPCS A09 Forward Tipping Dumper training is designed to provide novice and intermediate operators with sufficient Forward Tipping Dumper training which will enable them to competently and safely carry out the role as a Forward Tipping Dumper Operator and pass the CPCS theory & practical.

Eligibility Criteria

Before attending this course, candidates must pass the CITB Health and Safety Test for Operatives (OPS) within the past 2 years. We can accommodate this test at our centre for a fee of £60+VAT.

Course Learning Outcomes

  • Describe the nature of the sector of industry and their role and responsibilities as a plant operator.
  • Name & explain the purpose of principal components, controls & terminology.
  • Conform with manufacturer requirements and relevant regulations/legislation. Undertake all pre-use checks.
  • Operate the machine safely and efficiently.
  • Receive loads, discharge loads, and form stockpiles.
  • Maintain safe working situations.
  • Carry out shut down and securing procedures

Activity Instructions

Complete all manufacturers' pre-start and running checks. Prepare the dumper for travel.

In an unloaded state: pass through a chicane executing right and left turns in a forward and reverse direction.

In a loaded state: reverse in a straight line and pass through a restriction at the end of the run.

In a loaded and unloaded state: travel up and down the slope, stop and start on the slope, and travel over rough terrain.

Position the dumper for loading. Receive and discharge loads. Form stockpiles.

Clean out the skip and park the dumper. Carry out shut-down and securing procedures.
