BAM Construction Training’s CPCS A58 Excavator 360 Below 10T training is designed to provide novice and intermediate operators with sufficient Excavator 360 Below 10T training which will enable them to competently and safely carry out the role as an Excavator 360 Below 10T Operator and pass the CPCS theory & practical assessments.

Eligibility Criteria

Before attending this course, candidates must pass the CITB Health and Safety Test for Operatives (OPS) within the past 2 years. We can accommodate this test at our centre for a fee of £60+VAT.

Course Learning Outcomes

  • Describe the nature of the sector of industry and their role and responsibilities as a plant operator.
  • Name & explain the purpose of principal components, controls & terminology.
  • Conform with manufacturer requirements and relevant regulations/legislation. Undertake all pre-use checks.
  • Operate the machine safely and efficiently.
  • Maintain safe working situations.
  • Carry out shut down and securing procedures.

Activity Instructions

Complete all manufacturers’ pre-start and running checks. Prepare the excavator for travel.

Travel to the work area and: travel up and down the slope, pass through a restriction, and travel over rough terrain.

Prepare and set the excavator for the relevant work.

Produce a vertical trench to the specified dimensions.

Produce 2 straight trenches to form a ‘T’ pattern, with square starts and finishes.

Load material into a vehicle. Then change the bucket.

Restore the work area back to the original state.

Park the excavator and carry out shut-down and securing procedures.
