BAM Construction Training’s CPCS A42 Crusher training course is designed to provide novice and intermediate operators with sufficient Crusher training which will enable them to competently and safely carry out the role as a Crusher Operator and pass the CPCS theory & practical assessments.

Eligibility Criteria

Before attending this course, candidates must pass the CITB Health and Safety Test for Operatives (OPS) within the past 2 years. We can accommodate this test at our centre for a fee of £60+VAT.

Course Learning Outcomes

  • Describe the nature of the sector of industry and their role and responsibilities as a plant operator.
  • Name & explain the purpose of principal components, controls & terminology.
  • Conform with manufacturer requirements and relevant regulations/legislation. Undertake all pre-use checks.
  • Operate the machine safely and efficiently.
  • Convert uncrushed material into processed material.
  • Maintain safe working situations.
  • Carry out shut down and securing procedures.

Activity Instructions

Certify that the crusher is sited appropriately, stable, level and configured for crushing duties.

Complete all manufacturers' pre-start checks.

Ensure the material is suitable for crushing and set the crusher for the given specification.

Ensure discharge areas are suitable for receiving processed material.

Start the crusher and engage all systems.

Convert uncrushed material into processed material.

Operate the crusher until a stockpile is produced that is 75% of the discharge conveyer height.

Clear all material from the crusher and immediate area.

Carry out shut-down and securing procedures.
