CPCS Crawler Tractor/Dozer Training is designed to provide candidates with the skills and knowledge to pass their CPCS theory and practical assessments.

We accommodate novice and experienced Crawler Tractor/Dozer Training, supporting candidates in becoming competent operators.

Eligibility Criteria

Before attending this course, candidates must pass the CITB Health and Safety Test for Operatives (OPS) within the past 2 years. We can accommodate this test at our centre for a fee of £60+VAT.

Course Learning Outcomes

  • Describe the nature of the sector of industry and their role and responsibilities as a plant operator.
  • Name & explain the purpose of principal components, controls & terminology.
  • Conform with manufacturer requirements and relevant regulations/legislation. Undertake all pre-use checks.
  • Operate the machine safely and efficiently.
  • Produce trenches, form stockpiles, and side cast material.
  • Maintain safe working situations.
  • Carry out shut down and securing procedures.

Activity Instructions

Complete all manufacturers' pre-start and running checks. Prepare the dozer for travel.

Travel to the work area and: travel up and down the slope, pass through a restriction, and travel over rough terrain.

Prepare and set the dozer for the relevant work.

Produce a straight trench to the specified dimensions and form a stockpile.

Side cast material from the embankment to the specified dimensions.

Park the dozer and carry out shut-down and securing procedures.
