Course Introduction

CPCS Agricultural Tractor Training is designed to provide candidates with the skills and knowledge to pass their CPCS theory and practical assessments.

We accommodate novice and experienced Agricultural Tractor Training, supporting candidates in becoming competent Agricultural Tractor Operators.

Eligibility Criteria

Before attending this course, candidates must pass the CITB Health and Safety Test for Operatives (OPS) within the past 2 years. We can accommodate this test at our centre for a fee of £60+VAT.

Course Learning Outcomes

  • Describe the nature of the sector of industry and their role and responsibilities as a plant operator.
  • Name & explain the purpose of principal components, controls & terminology.
  • Conform with manufacturer requirements and relevant regulations/legislation. Undertake all pre-use checks.
  • Operate the machine safely and efficiently.
  • Complete activities with the trailer and mounted implement.
  • Maintain safe working situations.
  • Carry out shut down and securing procedures.

Activity Instructions

Complete all manufacturers' pre-start and running checks. Prepare the tractor for travel.

Position and prepare the tractor for all work.

With the trailer and mounted implement: travel up and down the slope and travel over rough terrain.

With the trailer and mounted implement: travel up and down the slope, travel over rough terrain, stop and start on the incline, carry out sharp right and left turns, and reverse into a confined space.

Connect the PTO driven implement and run to full speed to ensure correct functioning. On completion, detach the PTO driveline.

Park the tractor and carry out shut-down and securing procedures
