Lorry Loader Training Course – BAM Construction Training’s CPCS A36 HIAB Lorry Loader training course (3 day foundation) is designed to provide novice and intermediate operators with sufficient hiab lorry loader training which will enable them to competently and safely carry out the role as a hiab lorry loader and pass the CPCS theory/practical assessments.
We also offer a 2 day experienced worker course for candidates who do not require practical training.
Eligibility: Candidates must have a valid health, safety and environment test for operatives (OPS) within the past 2 years (also referred to as the CSCS touch screen test). We can accommodate this at our centre for a fee of £50 (inc vat).
Lorry Loader Training (CPCS A36) - Learning Outcomes
Through a combination of targeted hiab lorry loader training and experience, an individual with the lorry loader will be able to:
Describe the nature of the sector of industry and their role and responsibilities as a plant operator.
Setup rated capacity indicators or load moment indicators for lifting duties. Identify centres of gravity.
Conform with manufacturer requirements and relevant regulations/legislation. Undertake all pre-use checks.
Lift various loads using the full radius & slewing capabilities of the loader crane. Place loads accurately.
Configure the vehicle & loader crane ready for travel. Manoeuvre in confined spaces.
Explain the types & fitting of boom extensions. Minimise swinging of loads. Secure loads on the vehicle.
Configure the vehicle & loader crane for lifting duties. Deploy stabilisers to specification. Explain hazards.
Maintain safe working situations. Carry out shut down and securing procedures.
Complete all manufacturer’ pre-start and running checks and prepare the vehicle & crane for road travel.
Lift 3 loads and place onto the vehicle bed (100mm of given position).
Travel to and within the work area (loaded & unloaded).
Secure all loads in preparation for travel. Remove & place 3 loads to different location.
Reverse into a confined space (no wider than the width of the vehicle plus 900mm).
Stow all equipment and return the vehicle to the park position.
Position the vehicle, prepare and set the crane and load for each lift.
Park the vehicle and carry out shut-down and securing procedures
