The Level 2 NVQ Certificate in Plant Operations – Transporting Loads qualification has been developed for achievement in a real workplace environment which means you need to be employed to undertake this qualification.
This qualification enables you, the learner, to demonstrate and recognise your skills, knowledge and understanding and to demonstrate your competence in a real workplace environment so you can work in Transporting Loads within the construction industry
You will be assessed against a set of performance and knowledge statements which have been derived from National Occupational Standards for your occupational area. You will be assessed by an occupationally competent and qualified assessor whose job is to work with you and help you complete your qualification.
This qualification supports the learner to attain enabling, fundamental and transferable practical skills with associated underpinning knowledge. The learner will learn key practical skills and knowledge in following units:
-Conforming to General Health, Safety and Welfare in the Workplace
-Conforming to Productive Working Practices in the Workplace.
-Preparing and operating 360 degree excavators to excavate ground in the workplace
NVQ Requirements
- You must be working on site
- You must have access to the machine required to complete the required assessment criteria during the observation
- Preparing and operating self-propelled bowsers to receive, transport and discharge materials in the workplace
The NVQ its self, will take 1 full day to complete. In the morning, you will be required to complete the written element of the NVQ and then, in the afternoon the assessor will observe you working on site. We will also require an employer’s endorsement from either a site supervisor or manager as evidence to add to your portfolio.
After you have completed both elements to the NVQ, your portfolio is required to be internally verified. Once verified, providing there isn’t any missing evidence, additional site visits required or changes which need to be made – your portfolio will be claimed as achieved. We will then await your certificates. Once we have received your certificates, on behalf of you, we will apply for your blue card providing you have an in date, valid health and safety touch screen test. Please allow 7-10 working days to receive both, your card and certificate once the NVQ has been claimed as achieved.
