Course Description

CPCS Counterbalance Forklift training is designed to help you become a qualified counterbalance forklift driver.

Choose between our novice and experienced training courses, based on your current operating experience.

Those who pass the CPCS theory and practical tests will receive a CPCS Red Card, which is valid for 2 years.

Eligibility Criteria

Before attending counterbalance forklift training, you must have passed the CITB Health and Safety Test for Operatives within the past 2 years. This can be completed at our Wokingham centre for £60+VAT.

Learning Outcomes

Activity Instructions

Complete manufacturer pre-start and running checks. Prepare the forklift for travel.

Unloaded: Pass through a chicane executing right and left turns in a forward & reverse direction.

Loaded: Reverse in a straight line and pass through a restriction at the end of the run.

Lift and place a load at high level. Retrieve and place the load at a given point on ground level.

Lift and place 3 loads onto the truck bed. Remove loads upon completion.

Stack 3 loads vertically. De-stack loads and place them in a straight line upon completion.

Carry out undercutting by lifting and placing a load.

Park the forklift and carry out shut-down and securing procedures.
